Mitchell is no longer the star player at the Bunnies
Yarn
Howard Brown
The NRL and Channel 9 will likely push for him to be chosen as Captain.

If Madge is on fire, no need for you to raise your hand, Latrell!
Jason Wills
He might not get picked anyway based on how he's been playing lately.
Steven Robinson
He got the news that he won't be chosen to play.

Is he eligible for selection if he's in good shape, or will he be benched if he chooses not to play?

I just wanna say, I'm not gonna be available for selection this year. Just looking out for myself, no biggie.

Fair dinkum, why would anyone want him - poor little bloke. It's a wonder he's still at Souths. He's definitely not cut out to be a fullback.
Andrew Lane
Superstar in his own fantasy 😜
Josh Walters
This bloke's a total drongo if he reckons he's even a chance for Origin selection!! He's a liability to any team he's on. He's a selfish, bludger of a player who's bloody lucky to be playing in the NRL at all!
Danny Barnes
If he makes the team, it's gonna be a total joke. He ain't even close to deserving a spot. Smh 🤦‍♀️
David Watson
He also said no last year.
He's being arrogant by assuming he'll be chosen, making it not a sacrifice if he's not picked 😂😂
Barry Green
What a bloody shocker, the bloke's so full of himself thinking he's still got a chance. It's a laugh how he's suddenly worried about Souths after letting them down all bloody year. reckon his massive ego couldn't handle not being picked, good riddance to him. Madge is better off without that tosser.
Steven Johnson
The new position is totally missing out
He knows he won't be selected as he is playing poorly.

Big decision, should I be a couch potato or hit the Pub? 😂

Don't worry about that dumb running track they're talking about. Let's just turn it back into the showgrounds and Sunday markets.
Aaron Gerlach
Putting important decisions in the hands of those who don't face the consequences is crazy, especially when they keep making mistakes like BCC.

They've got a ton of cash to splash on a snazzy new walking path from Peel St to Brown Hill, through a stretch of Crown Land that's been lovingly tended by locals since '47!
Michael Piras
It's time to ditch the Councils, they ain't doing squat no mo'
Alan Nolan
The council should foot the bill, or keep the current showgrounds open until the new one is good to go.
Simon Matthews
We should have ditched the Bridge Mall "upgrade" and saved $20 mill, and fixed this disaster a year ago. The council keeps messing up big time.
Chuck a snag on the barbie and let it be until the new spot is ready mate. As the old saying goes, if it ain't stuffed, why muck around with it?

The old spot will be knocked down before then.
Paul Jenkins
Shouldn't have closed the showgrounds before the new ones were ready.
Mike Ferguson
The Ballarat show grounds are being demolished to make way for a new one on Creswick Rd.

Council's lack of effort is to blame.
Will Brown
I totally get why the other site won't work, the showgrounds has all the stuff animals need. But what I don't get is why they're tearing down the old place before the new one is ready to go.
Arthur Murphy
They really lucked out blowing all that cash on digging up the Bridge Mall.
Harold Reed
Real talk, it ain't the council's fault. I was at the show last year and most of the crowd was kids under 14 getting in for free. Vendors were out there hustling, but everybody was broke. It's just how things are these days.
Raymond Hughes
They were not supposed to leave the old site.
David Jeffery
What's the deal with polocross fields???
Eugene Whiteman
I think if it's funded by the State Government, which I think it is, then they're the ones calling the shots on the schedule, not the council.
Peter Brown
But they think Vic Park is lit for parties like Spilt Milk, Red Hot summer, and Summersault?

Tanya, Charlotte, Paul, and Haylee, I'm really sorry to tell ya that the Ballarat show in 2024 has been canned due to dodgy weather. We'll have to shift it to 2025. Apologies for the inconvenience, mates. Stay safe out there. Cheers. 🇦🇺

Why chuck out the Showgrounds when it's got everything it needs and all the locals who've grown up with it? It's just greedy council people putting money first. Ballarat deserves better. We've been going to shows and Sunday markets at the Showgrounds since we were kids - it's a crucial part of our c... View More

I bet they won't even start demolishing the old place until after the gig.
Troy Madden
I reckon it's been called off because the council has some secret plans for the show grounds. We'll just have to wait and see. It's a big money property, so I'm sure the Brisbane City Council has some tricks up their sleeves. Keep an eye out.

The council needs to be held accountable for this mistake and the new location is unacceptable; they should have bought the old site.

They might as well snatch it all up. Ain't nothin' else poppin' off around here. Ballarat is straight up trash now, ain't nothin' worth checkin' out.
