The council should foot the bill, or keep the current showgrounds open until the new one is good to go.
We should have ditched the Bridge Mall "upgrade" and saved $20 mill, and fixed this disaster a year ago. The council keeps messing up big time.

I totally get why the other site won't work, the showgrounds has all the stuff animals need. But what I don't get is why they're tearing down the old place before the new one is ready to go.
They really lucked out blowing all that cash on digging up the Bridge Mall.
Real talk, it ain't the council's fault. I was at the show last year and most of the crowd was kids under 14 getting in for free. Vendors were out there hustling, but everybody was broke. It's just how things are these days.
I think if it's funded by the State Government, which I think it is, then they're the ones calling the shots on the schedule, not the council.

I reckon it's been called off because the council has some secret plans for the show grounds. We'll just have to wait and see. It's a big money property, so I'm sure the Brisbane City Council has some tricks up their sleeves. Keep an eye out. Alison Dean
