The Swans are flying right now, but you win nothing in June

The Swans are the team to beat and poised to win the grand final this year.
Bryan Ferguson
The Lions at the Gabba? We'll see, fam.

I remember when Melbourne smashed out 10 wins in a row in 2021, and all the so-called experts reckoned they peaked too soon. They had a few rough games on the road after that, but still managed to snag the premiership that year. So there's no reason why Sydney can't do the same. I just don't get all... View More

Why is everyone making such a fuss about Collingwood beating them in 1935? It's all about their best season START since way back in 1935!
Mills and Parker coming back, stoked mate!

And who kicked the swans' butts in '35 and '36 grand finals? Go pies! Let's make it two in a row and take down those swans again.

Awesome, 1935, the year the magpies dominated and took home the championship!
Ash Mathews
Killing it on the field right now. But remember, the real champs are crowned at the G and in September.
Gene Paterson
They hadn't met yet.
Andrew Scott
That was their sickest start since '35, right? But didn't they get owned by Collingwood that year?

They ain't chatting about the GF. They're talking about their sickest kickoff to a season since '35.
And, yo, that's how it's been...a solid kick-off. Let's watch what happens if they have 15...18 players go down at the same time, like it's happened at other clubs. Maybe they won't have to handle that situation...their bench hasn't been put to the test.

I reckon all the footy fans out there would be way more stoked if they just told every team to take a long break and let Sydney make two teams to duke it out for the rest of the season. The game would be better and the winner would be crystal clear.

I don't think those were the Swans back in 1935, that was South Melbourne. They're the Sydney Swans now. I don't see how they can break another team's records since they're not in the VFL.
Philip Jackson
Good job on the start, but remember we're only in the first half of the season. Don't get too cocky, there's still a lot of work ahead. Props to the boys, but remember, attitude is key. Stay grounded and stay real.
Ange Pappas
Haven't faced off against the mighty kangaroos yet.
Joe Thompson
I reckon this proves that Richmond is the AFL's only chance of stopping the Swans from taking out the whole thing this year.

Umm, the only reason we lost was because of some silly team drama at that time, lol!
Kurt Howard
All these peeps talking 'bout 1935 and pies being champs need to stop living in the past. AFL wasn't legit until it was the AFL. Anything before that was just like playing around in the neighborhood.
Chris Evans
Haven't gone toe-to-toe with the Roos yet, they're on fire right now!

The tigers are still the only squad that took them down.

I enjoy seeing Victorian fans go crazy when the bloods are playing. Go team!
Lee Burgess
Yeah but they weren't even in the AFL and didn't rep the Swans, so nahhh, best start since the AFL days kicked off in '90.
Dermot Hosking
Heaps of teams have bossed the comp, only to choke at the final stretch (like my Cats in '08). The Swans are just a couple of injuries from losing their 'unbeatable' status.
Drew Parker
When we gonna get them AFL stats? The VFL is where it's at in Victoria, not the AFL.

Simplest draw at SCG every game, playing on a ground the size of a shoe box.
