I really wanted Carlos to win, but he's got many more years of playing tennis ahead of him.
That shit didn't even make the fans go wild. The commentators were really rooting for Alcaraz as well.
A 5 set match is definitely not what I consider a beatdown.
It was a total of four sets. That wasn't a complete domination.
He was completely outmatched in 3 sets and a half and played decently for just 4 games. He managed to win the 3rd set, but overall, his performance fell far below the expectations for a quarter finalist in a Grand Slam tournament.
I wouldn't classify that as a complete domination. 🎾

Alcaraz had a head start in 2022, but his squad has leveled up while he stayed stuck in the same place.
Yeah, I was surprised too. Carlos just wasn't bringing his A-game. Gotta give props to Alex though, he shut him down completely. I was hoping for a longer match, but it just didn't work out.
He requires determination and maturity, but often appears hesitant and seeks self-pity. Despite this, he will overcome it and had high expectations of winning. He could have reached the top four in the semis.
He'll bounce back in a mighty way. Still a young bloke with heaps more chances. Keep an eye out, mate.
