Another bloody setback for the main mob council, always bending over backwards for the few. Like as if Hobart wasn't already clogged up with traffic.
Michael Baker
Make sure to register and pay fees, especially if you use your own lanes.
Adam Wrightson
No way, mate. We need more bloody parking around here. This ain't bloody Amsterdam, thank god. And get rid of those silly scramble crossings while you're at it. What a bloody waste of time. And chuck some paint on those line markings, too!

The Council be thinkin' they can do whatever they want. Well, at least some of 'em. They don't care about the businesses that gonna be hurtin' 'cause of no parkin'. It's like they wanna shut down the whole city center and be chillin'.
Brian Young
Less than 1% of Hobart's population will benefit from this, primarily South Hobart residents.

Once more, the underdogs in our community are getting all the love while our elderly and differently-abled friends get left in the dust, even though they outnumber us all!

Unfortunately, this Council with its current bunch of Councillors makes choices that benefit the few at the expense of the many. Take care of your business ratepayers or you'll end up with a CBD filled with just cyclists and Uni students in a deserted town!

The Hobart City Council are gonna ditch 59 on-street car spots on Collins Street to test out parklets and dual cycle lanes. They reckon the parking spots are occupied 79% of the time between Harrington and Murray St, so they're making the change.
Jimmy Wilson
So us car owners and taxpayers are shelling out for upgrades to bike lanes, but I hardly ever see them being used. I reckon it'd be better to have more emergency lanes for ambulances, police, fire trucks, you know.
Thomas Washington
When will bike rider registration be implemented?
Who's the genius behind these dumb ideas? People are already steppin' away from the city. This will just make it even more ghost town.
Christian Taylor
You tryna bring folks into the city or what?! Our mom and pop shops need it, people wanna be able to snag a parking spot and run errands in under an hour. Cafes miss out on customers looking to hang out and spend some cash on food or a trim. We small business owners need to speak up when the city co... View More
