The place will be operational in about 4 days once the rain stops and the water recedes rapidly in Cairns. The airport is currently open and planes are expected to fly in this afternoon.

Take a good look at all the planes 'underwater'... That's where they keep all the old aircraft that are out of service, like a graveyard. Some of them are even covered in moss. And the helicopter didn't have any rotors or anything.

The airport is up and running.

It's just H2O and quite astonishingly, it all flows into the sea within a day or two.

Playtime has begun, all flights arrive and depart today.

Nah, the airport's shut 'cause it's mud crab season, jokes! Cairns is like the sickest place in Aus, no doubt.
