Is $5.50 for a snag and coke over the top?

Cameron Alexander
Why not, mate? Everything else goes up each week at Woolies...

Only purchase the sausages as the proceeds go to charity, so it's worth it.
Jake Clifton
That plain old white bread and sausage combo is not my thing, especially without any spicy sauce or onions. But hey, I get that it's for a good cause, so I'll just donate some cash instead of chowing down on that meal! 😁

They all accept donations, our charity does for sure.
Roger Campbell
It is Coles and Woolies fault for the price gouging on sausages and bread.
Jerry Sanchez
"An extra 50 cents on top of a cheap drink really isn't that big of a deal."
Jim Davis
They shouldn't be jacking up the prices at all because of the economy. It's way too pricey for a regular family of four. I mean, if a family buys 4 sausages, it should be like $10 tops. They'll just scare off all the customers. I'd rather have a bigger portion for a cheaper price - doesn't Bunnings ... View More

Just an FYI, the sausage sizzles at Bunnings are actually run by the Rotary club, not Bunnings itself. Since Rotary is a charity, they have to raise prices a bit. But it's a win/win situation because Bunnings gets more customers and Rotary gets a place to do their sizzle.
Steve Carey
Oh no, the sausages are still affordable. It's the soda cans that have increased by 50 cents! Not a big deal, even in these tough times.

Here's a thought mate. Why not offer some tucker for those with a gluten intolerance and chuck in some gluten free bread too. I don't have a reaction to gluten, but my missus does, so I skip the snag and just grab a cold one. If you're tossing a fit over a 50 cent price hike, which is going to a goo... View More

yeah mate, I’m from Detroit Michigan and I have two Frenchies, what about you?
Beck Hutchinson
Is that for one measly slice of bread or a glorious pair?

Heaps cheaper than the cost of the jab.
Andrew Moss
It's cool, it helps out local charities and groups in the neighborhood. I don't mind shelling out a little extra to support my community.

The issue is that these charities ain't making enough money, most of it goes straight to Bunnings.
Jing Tao
I would like them to make some burgers.
Andrew Quinn
Did the journalist holding onto this scoop since February 1, when Bunnings dropped the bomb about raising prices?
Chris Hawkins
Can't nobody stop me from grabbing those, they're awesome for lunch or a quick bite.
Leonardo Pagano
And now they're losing a ton of customers...
I stopped copping them after the first bump
Terry Roberts
I'm done! You won't see me again. See you next weekend.

In my opinion, it's just a fiver for a good local cause, plus a snag and a drink on the house.
WA sausages are served in buns.
Antonio Franco
It's all goin' down for everyone, and we all just doin' our best. This is just how it is right now, but hey, it's a solid deal and worth it for a good cause.
When I hit up Bunnings around lunchtime, I always grab a snag so I don't have to worry about cooking or cleaning up when I get home. It's a win-win situation!
Daniel Russell
I had a blast last Saturday and will keep on supporting the charities they pick.
Marco Amato
How about focusing on the big supermarkets that rip us off with crazy prices? Bunnings sausage sizzles are a way to help out charities and community groups. Maybe if the supermarkets didn't charge so much for a box of Coke, they wouldn't need to hike up the prices to make a buck.
Andrew Moyle
Pop cans have practically gone up in price by two times, but hey, where else can you score a snack and a drink for just $5.50?
Alex Stewart
We're shelling out $3.50-$4.50 for a tin at the servo, so $2.00 for a sausage sizzle at Bunnings won't hurt the hip pocket.
Carl Hunt
Prices for everything be going up, man.
Jamie McKinnon
Think about all the good you're doing by chowing down on that sausage sarnie and drink. I bet those charities and community groups are super grateful for your cash!
