Should the Australian Olympic team have a major sponsor?

If you ask Gina politely, she might be able to assist you.

Nah, then you're just fronting for the sponsor and not your hood, man!
February 1, 2024
Absolutely! If that's what it takes to support our teams, then count me in! 🇦🇺

I'd prefer if we chucked some cash at our athletes instead of splurging it on what governments call art. They pour thousands of dollars into that stuff.

So let me get this straight - you're suggesting that if someone wants to participate in the Olympics, they should cover the expenses themselves. Times can be challenging, and instead of the government using our taxpayer money, I'd prefer it to be allocated to more critical issues rather than a sport... View More

Unfortunately, being all hyped about your sport doesn't automatically mean there's enough interest from peeps to make sponsorship worth it... It seems like a lot of sports expect funding even though they can't attract enough moolah from sponsors.

Advertising at the Olympics is restricted and needs to be revised because of high expenses involved.
February 1, 2024
All Olympic athletes, except for those in the Special and Paralympics, are sponsored, which can affect their individual sponsorships.

Don't allow them to go woke on the country; make them pay their own way.
February 1, 2024
The Olympics used to be for amateurs, but now many of these athletes are pros and make money through sponsorships.

Hell yeah, man! The rich keep getting richer, so why not give some love to Point Piper and show some damn national pride? You ain't gonna take all that wealth with you, man. Even the pharaohs couldn't do it, we've seen the proof. So go ahead, make a name for yourself. What's your take, bro?

I don't give a damn, as long as regular folks aren't paying for it. We should be investing in our own economy.

The Olympics are all about pro athletes who hustle their sport for a living and go head-to-head in sick competitions. Scrap all that cheddar unless they're straight-up amateurs, ya feel?

Most likely since the Govt doesn't seem to wanna or be able to give them the cash they need. Meanwhile, they're hella skilled at blowing taxpayers' dough.

As long as we're not footing the bill, I don't really care. The Olympics is gonna become a joke in the next few decades anyway, considering the ridiculous sports they keep adding. It's a damn circus.

Oh, definitely! But it's a bummer if the sport can't get any sponsors.

Yeah, mate, reckon if it helps save them tax dollars, the blokes should bloody well do it themselves.

As long as they ain't got no racist, bigoted shit on 'em, them athletes represent all Aussies, mate.

Sponsors be pickin' who they gonna sponsor, so if certain sports ain't gettin' no sponsors, it's 'cause they ain't high profile, ya know? Dem sponsors just tryna get some bang for their buck, man.

Why take a chance sponsoring these major teams when their boards and senior players have shown such woke and pathetic behaviors?

Thijs Verboom
The goverment should totally cover the expenses of our Olympic team.
