Nah, but I'd do it if they double the usable range.
No worries, mate! We've got a diesel for the long hauls, but an EV would be bloody brilliant for the day-to-day stuff like school, work, and quick trips. And it's all juiced up by our solar and battery setup.
Why would I invest in a car that becomes ancient history in just 8 short years?

Which cars have been chilling for 10 years?
Gavin Carroll
Picture being one of the blokes who bought an EV last year. The cost of a brand new one is now less than the value of their 1 year old depreciated EV.
Whistlin Diesel all the way, baby!
Henry Carter
These articles are like a sausage sizzle for the anti EV crew.
Charles Rivera
If it's affordable and low maintenance, I'll consider buying it.

If it had three times the mileage, I might give it a second thought...maybe!
I might cop it if it’s 5 stacks.
Douglas Williams
For sure - it's way cheaper to take care of and drive. Like, who wants to drop $50-$100 every time you fill up your car when you can do it for just 20 bucks? Bet all those ICE lovers are gonna freak out over what I just said.
Bob Ryan
No, because they have a limited life span and no residual value.
Anthony Holmes
My worry is the rubbish these EVs will create. When in just 5 years they end up in the tip because nobody wants to buy a used EV with better technology and cheaper new ones available.

Where'd ya read that?
Anthony Butler
And then cling on for dear life, refusing to let go even when the proof is right in front of your face!
Riley Murray
No worries mate. Want a car with a good trade-in price. The tech in an EV will be ancient by the time you're ready for a new whip so who'd want it then?
Steve Roberts
I'm amazed by how many people believe Facebook memes as facts.
Matthew Miller
Yay, cars are on sale for a steal!

Nah mate, the battery on its own is worth the whole car!!
Matthew Wright
I wouldn't touch it with a ten-foot pole, even if they paid me!
Justin Collins
You're basically roasting in a microwave while you drive!
Adrian Boyle
I'd do it if there were more miles in the tank. Just not enough juice spots.

There's more hidden treasures than meets the eye, just not where you'd expect! We've got a dozen surprises tucked away in our little country town without a single traffic light in sight. No flashy signs on the highway to clue in travelers, just follow the main street behind the supermarket for a lau... View More

Nah, I'm gonna ride with diesel for a bit longer.
Jacob Smith
No, they are not worth their high cost, especially considering the expense of battery replacements.
No way am I ever gonna buy that.
Adam Davis
Let's wait and see how this all plays out in 5 years.
Jack Abbott
I wouldn't want it or keep it if someone gave it to me.
You couldn't pay me to own that! It's way more eco-unfriendly than gas.
Peter Francis
I would consider it as a city car if the price is right.
Ben Haywood
You can't help but chuckle when you hear EV owners bragging about their savings, forgetting about the hefty price of depreciation and the toll on the environment.
Allan Miles
I wouldn't take them even if they were free.
Bryan Ferguson
I for sure would! Actually, I already have one and it's absolutely amazing. No way am I going back!
Brett Gordon
This would totally rock as a boat anchor!
Chris Thompson
My Proton was the first brand new car I bought for $13K, so I'll be eagerly waiting for a decent second-hand EV market, but I reckon by then it'll be a motorized scooter.
Donald Richardson
These cars are trash. We saw one go up in flames, which was messed up, but the stench tipped us off that something wasn't right. Thankfully, the driver got out unscathed.

I've been driving an EV for 5 years and it's been awesome. They're way cheaper to run, hardly need any maintenance, no more dealing with mechanics trying to upsell you on unnecessary repairs, plus the ride is super smooth and quiet. Just plug in at home instead of waiting in line at the gas station.... View More

No way mate. I'll never change me mind about a dodgy ride. I won't be buying a car with an expiry date.
Albert Miller
I'd be down if it came with a never-ending stash of free batteries and tires.
Adam Kent
My next car's gonna be an EV. Bloody brilliant!

That's why I'm holding off on getting the new KIA ev5 until next year. All these other car companies are making the big electric vehicle manufacturers lower their prices. They've been overcharging us since they first came out, but now they have to compete or no one will buy their cars.
