Bring it back so Harley Reid can return and play for the Big V.
Alex Jones
Let's return to the days of the VFL when umpires had more control and interstate teams had more freedom.

And we came up with it in '77, they jumped on the bandwagon in '80 and ran with it!!!!!!!!! NRL players tough it out in State of Origin, sacrificing club games. EJ would be rolling in his grave.
Josh Hutchison
AFL lacks the state representation passion, plain and simple.
Salvatore Marino
We don't want our shining superstars getting banged up over a silly game!
Adrian Thomson
Completely support Garry's opinion on State of Origin being the most anticipated event in WA every year. The atmosphere at Subiaco Oval on Tuesday afternoons was electric and the games were top-notch.
Doug Smith
Victoria disrupted the State of Origin by recruiting the top players from other states to play for them.

I'm totally Team Gazza Lion! Back in the day, I was a huge fan of interstate football. It was all about showing off the best players and teams. Let's set aside our rivalries for a day and come together as one state. Go Gazza and The Big V! 🦁🏉 #unity #interstatefootball

The shame is you shagged your mate's missus and then started dating her... Don't throw stones, mate.
Jay Denman
The players enjoyed watching it and want it back.
Gary Dwyer
During the 2008 Victoria vs The Allies game, I watched the Hawthorn players closely, hoping none of them got injured, especially Buddy, who could have impacted their premiership chances like Tony Hall did in 1989.

Rugby League is limited to NSW and Queensland, while AFL is played nationwide, bringing top players from all states together.
SOO's success comes from years of QLD players forced to play for NSW, leading to a strong rivalry. AFL origin should start a tri series with WA and SA, as VIC vs all stars is insulting. Port may not be happy giving up their Magpies name and premierships for the VFL.
Andrew Nevins
He's stuck in the past while the game has already leveled up!

The injuries from those games ain't worth the clubs' trouble.
Enzo Franco
The Victorians shut down State of Origin cuz they weren't feelin' their hometown heroes gettin' hurt in games against interstate teams. They were all about that VFL life.
Antonio Conte
A biennial national carnival.
Anthony Nicoski
It's the only 95,000 crowd they get all year. Let them have their moment to shine once a year.
Wayne Adams
The AFL should focus on clubs and players, not the circus of Stale Old Oranges.
Matthew Williams
Games these days are basically like State of Origin, with the winner scoring 4 points. Who needs exhibition matches anyway?

Clubs ain't keen on it. They don't wanna risk their top players getting seriously hurt. Noticed that happening in the last few State of Origin games. Star players would get injured and miss the game, but magically recover in time for the next AFL match.

You're totally off base, Garry Lyon ain't no legend and State of Origin is all about FATDWH!
Anthony Skinner
The State of Origin games were the best I've seen, but bringing them back wouldn't be the same.
Gale Austin
If players get banged up or injured, ain't no way clubs letting that fly.
Peter Montanari
At least he ain't coaching St Kilda.

He's right! Club is too focused on themselves.
Lion the real G. Only thing he rocked at was smashing his homie's girl.
Bryan Ferguson
It's all good times until your best player gets hurt in a stupid game and screws up your chances of making it to the championship.
Alex Stewart
Gary is absolutely right - State of Origin games were totally epic back in the day - AFL must be crazy to have stopped them - I challenge the AFL to ask the fans - I bet they'd overwhelmingly say "yes" to bringing them back!
