You won't catch me riding on the road. I always stick to bike paths because the roads are way too risky.
It is much safer for bike riders to stop for pedestrians than to be on the road, where some car drivers may not like them and accidents can lead to fatal injuries.
This one's a toughie, but gotta admit, there are certain areas out there where the chances of kicking the bucket on the road are pretty damn high.
It's kind of ironic how in the busiest areas with shared paths, there are many pedestrians, but in less crowded spots where pedestrians are scarce, cyclists are forbidden to use them even though it would be safer if they could.
After what happened this morning with that bicycle near Primbee, I think bicycles should just stay off the road. Cars and bicycles don't go well together.
It's a joke to advocate for bikes on footpaths; they should stick to their intended purpose. If cyclists want to ride on the road, they should pay registration like everyone else.
