What’s a chess joke about human nature?

I misplaced a couple of those bloomin' frontline pieces. But I scored some brand-new ones at the pawn shop, mate.

Haha, I really suck at chess! Can someone kindly elucidate why that trade is so unfortunate?

The black should have had fun and played the queen instead of the horse...that would have made sure to capture the white queen. Now, if the white plays skillfully both checkmate and losing the queen can be prevented.

Uh oh, that queen ain't free at all! If he snatches it, he'll be checkmated in no time!
